We certainly have come a very long way in terms of computer technology. With computers the size of rooms to small hand held phone devices that do more than just telephony, we know that as technology evolves, some will be permanently phased out, while others will live on just like Murphy in Robocop. With emulation type technology, we see older platforms from Apple IIs, Atari, NES, SEGA, DOS, and more get new life as the new generation of computer users integrate the new with the old. I was quite thrilled when I saw Engadget link to a translated Polish article talking about running Windows 3.1 on a Nokia N95. This not only signifies that something is doable, but it also shows the power of our current cell phones and as well as a sampling of what is to come. And of course, if Windows 3.1 run under DOSBox on the N95, then we most likely will also have the capability to run all the other cool DOS games and apps such as WordStar or Maniac Mansion…life is good.
