The New Kindles Are Coming! The New Kindles Are Coming!

I’m not going to lie to you folks.  I ordered my new Kindle 2 the second it went on sale at Amazon.  I ride the train ever day (over an hour each way) to work.  And the thought of carrying 1500 or more volumes in one slim device is extremely attractive to me.

Initially, when I ordered it, Amazon sent me a ship date of March 2, with it arriving in my grubby little paws sometime around March 10.  well, I received an email today indicating that my new toy had already shipped!  The new arrival date is March 2, and I cannot wait.

Of course, I am not the only one to jump on the Kindle 2 bandwagon.  Judie Lipsett from Gear Diary and Dan Cohen from What’s On iPhone also purchased the new Kindle on February 9.  So, stay tuned as the three of us will be bringing you a joint review encompassing all of our thoughts on what could be the hottest gadget of 2009.

You must be lucky, or got in early, I've been seeing reports if peoples orders being cancelled!

Leonard has the Kindle and swears by it, I'm an avid reader (3-4 books a week) but I don't think I'd be comfortable "not turning pages".

@ Pedah…I have seen some of those reports as well. I was one of the first in line the day of the announcement though. I will be so happy when it arrives.

@Sue, Iam like you. It is a real paradigm shift to go from books to an ebook reader. It took a while with my Sony. But in the end, carrying millions of pages in under a pound won out. :)

Yeah, I saw that. But I did not see any of the circumstances. Ie: what did he order? when did he order it? etc…
