I reviewed the Mophie Juice Pack a while back and really loved it, but one of the problems that crept up on me after a while was the battery dying. All run out of juice after expending their charges, but the Mophie had a habit of making a lot of dying breaths in the form of charging, not charging, charging once more, and then dying. This meant that my iPhone would vibrate and beep like crazy as the Mophie ran out of battery and I’d have to take the iPhone out before it drove me crazy. A power switch solves that problem quite nicely, especially since drawing upon Mophie power when the iPhone is fully charged actually ends up using more energy than plain charging.

Another cool design element is the progression towards more of a case-type enclosure with the Air. It actually covers the whole top, bottom, and back of the iPhone 3G (no 2G love…sigh) so you can actually really rely on the Mophie Air for some decent scratch protection.
