Extra, extra, read all about it: Kindle 2 announced, costs $359

If you were looking forward to the latest and greatest in Amazon e-reading technology, then today is your day. Feast your eyes on the Kindle 2: thinner, curvier, batterier, and grey-scalier than ever. I know that the last two words aren’t real, but you’re okay with that because you want to know specs and see a picture. Here you go:

Engadget got a hands-on and even have a hands-on video.  The Kindle 2 will run you $359 and features 2GB of storage, 25% more battery (4 days of reading) , 16 greyscale options, as well as better hardware controls and a faster screen (for page turning!). There are also two new features in the form of “Read to me” and “Whispersync” (easily transfer content and bookmarks from Kindle to Kindle, more devices in future).

Check out more pics, details, and the hands-on video here.
