Quick Look: Resco Contact Manager Beta

pc_capture2 Got a heads up from Doug today about a new application from Resco, a Contact Manager still in Beta, that Doug said looks great. He’s usually right ;) so I thought I’d have a quick look, and to tell you the truth I’m not disappointed. It comes as a desktop install, that is straight activesync/WMDC compatible, installed to storage card without a glitch, and all of a sudden you’ve got a new today plug-in that gives you a lot more access to your system, than just your contacts, oh, but they’re included as well.

So this is a contact manager right, but as you can see, just the today plug-in, offers access to a large amount of information, and even system functionality. immediately, you have to go, an app that allows you access to your favourite contacts, call history, text history, and messaging, as well as all of your radio functions from the Today Screen is already looking real good.

So where do those Today shortcuts take you?

As I said this is a very quick look, but from the screenies above, that’s an example of the just installed today screen shortcut, and where it gets you. I haven’t looked at the settings or options at all, this is a bit of a guerilla review. The program itself installs it’s own folder in the programs menu.So it’s right there if you don’t want to use the plug-in, and of course it lets you get to all of the features you want to use.

Physically, the interface is easy to navigate and use, finger scrollable, and graphically enjoyable.

This is looking like a class contact manager, especially for a beta! It’s sleek, looks good, I can’t find any bugs at the moment, it’s simple to use, and I installed it on my day to day device.

You can download the Beta and have a look here
