CherryPal Netbooks for Pandas

CherryPal announced the first truly green netbook at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.  Their newest product is called the Bing.  The Bing is supposed to be ultra-effcient, and run for 5 hours on the included battery.  CherryPal is working to stress the importance of a greener lifestyle.  Green is a good thing, and I applaud them for working in the right direction.  I am not really sure if pandas like cherries, but I can comfortably say that they do love anything that helps protect the environment.  The netbook itself has an Atom N270 processor, along with 1 GB of RAM, a 10.1″ screen, and a 160 GB HDD.  The Bing has the ability to be used with or without the CherryPalCloud, and you have your choice of OS:  Linux based GreenMaraschino or GreenMaraschino enhanced XP.  CherryPal is also running a 2 for 1 special.  If you order their C114 desktop along with the Bing, you can have both for $399.  The C114 is available now, and the Bing will ship at the end of the first quarter.  See the press release after the break for additional details.

Windows Mobile 6.5

windows-mobile-65 Which WinMo users are waiting for an update, Hmm, how does every single one of them sound. you might think I’m exaggerating, but most Windows Mobile users are actually dedicated to the operating system. Now that doesn’t indicate a whole heap of automatons, it shows a dedication to a tried and tested platform, no matter how, “you’ll probably be on a pension, before we get a useful update” to WinMo.

my friend Wayne over at Gear Diary, has seen fit to post about a version of MobileMe, wasn’t that a FAIL from the fruit company? or something similair for Windows Mobile. I suppose any cloud sync that works from WinMo would be useful. Comparing anything to MobileMe at the moment might be adverse marketing, and imagine if WinMo 6.5 includes apple like native apps, we’ll all have to buy iPhones to get over it!

Windows Mobile 6.5 reportedly will include MobileMe competitor (that works) | Gear Diary

Review: Hydro Tilt

2

[also posted on JAiB] Today we’ll be taking a look at Hydro Tilt, a relatively new puzzle game for the iPhone/iTouch. Your goal on each and every level is the same: deliver a small cube to a drop-off point. That sounds simple enough, but your abilities are limited since you start off as a mere droplet of water. As you run through each stage you’ll be given the ability to bypass obstacles by changing states — and all of this is done by tilting and turning the device like a wet game of labyrinth. Actually, it’s probably a bit more like Super Monkey Ball…sans super and monkey.

Contest Winners: The Last Of Our Favorite Things

Capture1

This is going to be the end of our favorite things contest.  And I promised we would go out with a bang.  Heck, I even left an extra day to give all of you stragglers a chance to get those last minute entries placed.  Some of you guessed that the final prize might be a new device.  And I would love to give away a device, but alas not this time.  The final prize, however, is almost as good as a new device (at least I think so).

So, let’s unveil the final prize of the contest.  I have made it no secret here that Ultimate Ears are my favorite headphones.  Well, sometimes I get the feeling that some of you may not believe me about the amazing sound quality Ultimate Ears offers.  So, we thought it would be fun for three of you to have a chance to find out for yourself.  Yup, that’s right.  Three lucky winners will each get the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 4 (for the record, a $130 value).

So, who will get these amazing new headphones?  well, I will say that choosing just 3 winners out of the over 80 entries was not easy.  But we managed.  and the winners are:

tekipaq

Brandon

Darkcorner

Congratulations to all of our winners.  Watch for an email coming soon.
