I won’t say I have always liked Tower Defense games. The truth is that I have never been a fan of World of Warcraft (which gave birth to the genre) and only discovered these games only when I reviewed Azgard Defence for Windows Mobile (which remains among the best of the genre as far as I am concerned). That latest entry is 7 Cities for iPhone and iPod Touch.
As the title suggests, this game consists of seven cities, which you must protect. Each city is built on a river, which provides the only access to the city and its riches. Waves of pirates (and some other creatures associated with the pirates) try to approach and overtake the cities. Because this is a tower defense game, your job is to build towers to stop the pirates. Let the fun begin!
A great heads up over at TechCrunch today, put me on to a beta that will make it possible to sync my Google contacts and Calendar to my Windows Mobile device. This is a fix I’ve been wanting for a while. There’s an iPhone app as well.
Nuevasync is a Beta application that allows users to sync OTA, Google contacts, and calendar, as well as their Plaxo contacts.
On your device go to the sign up page here and register, it’s a mobile friendly site. The settings are quite straight forward, and once you’ve set up Nuevasync it will work in the background with little maintenance needed.
It seems to be working quite well with the Tilt at the moment, and hasn’t given me a problems, I’ll persist with it and see how it goes. Worth a try at least! let me know what you think?

Considering the dominance of Opera Mobile 9.5 on all of HTC’s latest “big hitter” devices, it sort of makes sense that if you were going to release a competing browser, you would want to use one of the power devices like the Touch HD, but it’s not available for the NAM market. So the next big thing would be the Touch Pro.
A few weeks ago I posted about the Alpha 2 release of Fennec, and did not really expect any news of a windows mobile release this early in the year. Well a post over at WMExperts will warm the cockles of any Touch Pro owners heart. Or Not. Information from the Mozilla Wiki, points in the direction of a February release, but there are plenty of caveats included!
We are targeting a Milestone release for the first week of February, targeting the HTC touch pro.
We are two patches away from the meta goal of building from trunk. The tools changes have review from dougt, and are waiting for review from ted, who has promised review by the end of the week. NSPR changes are waiting for review from Nelson, who asked for and received a patch against NSPR trunk
So we know what the team is working towards, but nothing has been promised, although when a development team starts talking about release dates, even though you might want to take it with a grain of salt, it seems Fennec is imminent. Well for some of us with HTC Touch Pro’s any way.
Not long ago, I had the opportunity to review the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3 headphones. Now, I have reviewed quite a few higher end headphones, and I still wasted almost no time declaring the Super.fi 3 the best I had ever used. In facts, at the time, I had this to say:
I found these headphones created the perfect escape. I slipped them on during my walk to work and suddenly, I was not walking to work, I was ringing the Division Bell, I was Over The Hills and Far Away, I was standing in that sweet November Rain. It is like creating an oasis of music in an otherwise chaotic world. Don’t just listen to your music…experience it!
Pretty high praise. And to be honest, I have been using those headphones ever since. They are just amazing. Really, I never expected to find the Super.fi 3 discarded in the nether regions of my desk, forgotten amongst my other papers and old review items. But that is exactly where they are now. So, what headphone could possibly make me completely forget these once best headphones I had ever used?
I recently reviewed Ultimate ToDos over on whatsoniphone.com and was pretty impressed with the Toodledo-synching task manager. At $4.99 for a full-featured task management app it was a good deal.
At the current price– FREE– it is an even better deal.
