Not quite the App Store, but a Nice Start
This could have been a free for all post, but I wanted to applaud the ingenuity of the developers, for taking a business model, and applying it to freeware for Windows Mobile. Although still in beta the Gecko [Dot] org ethos seems to be, a place and an app that will let you forget about checking for updates, geckos app will do it for you.
Like I said it’s still in beta, but there are many of us that use freeware everyday, and hopefully this will make life a little easier.
The “they don’t want to call it an App store” application, is working towards the same over the air functionality, that the fruit company provides, check your apps and update when a new version is available.
Hit the link below and have a look around at the site, I think this is one to watch!

Yeah it's a great idea, I don't know if they'll be able to support paid software though, and I wonder how many developers, will be willing to align themselves with the deveopers of this application/idea. It's an unknown at the moment, but if it pans out it would be a real boon for winmo users

This has really been a failing of Microsoft. They need to have some kind of an easy to use app store. And if they are not doing it, then I really hope Gecko can. Developers can sign up for free, so I hope that is an enticement to them. But I don't know.
