Free For All: Group SMS
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you’ve gotta love a bargain, right! I found this application over at WMPoweruser, last week, but had to try it before I’d post it for general consumption. It’s called Group SMS, it’s from an independent developer, and it adds the ability to send group SMS/MMS messages on WinMo Phones.
It’s simple, easy to use, and doesn’t take a lot of time to set up.
The fact that you can only send a group SMS/MMS from a windows mobile phone, by manually adding the contacts/recipients one at a time, is a major fail! So when an application is free, and adds this functionality, it’s going to be a hit for sure. The only thing you have to do to make this work, is categorise your contacts.
I already have most of my stuff categorised, so after a simple cab install, I’m up and running. Select a group and hit next,
then you can select who the message goes to, hit next and the program reverts to the native WinMo SMS/MMS interface with all of your selected contacts included, nice
Then simply write your message and send. You can use all of the features of the native WinMo messaging application once you reach this stage. It’s a really great little application, from Shubaroo.com. As I said at the start, this is from an independent developer, who writes these apps in his spare time, and he has a bevy of others at his site. If you appreciate this or others, you might donate!

Thanks for pointing this out, Peter. It's really a great service to the mobile community for sites to call attention to small developers with slick apps that might not otherwise get much notice. People like me get to see new apps and the public showcasing helps validate the developers' work.

Nice find, Peter. This is a pretty cool looking app. Makes me wish I knew more people who like to SMS.

I have this program and like you said – it's a beauty. Makes messaging multiple people dead simple.

Thanks Breles, I was just amazed at the stuff this guy has put together, Credit given where Credit is due. He has some great ideas for WinMo Phones with smaller screens. There's a blank today screen plug in, that you can use as a spacer between smaller plug ins to make them easier to hit without the stylus.
Great ideas!
