StationBreak [Saturday Edition]: Architecture in Helsinki

So there I was at this cool Japanese hair salon with ridiculously hip Japanese people cutting hair and I heard this song over the speaker system. It’s absolutely manic and there are so many voices and instruments I wondered for just a second if it was some sort of “best riots of the 60’s” collection. But then something magical happened. The sounds started to coalesce and I started to hear music. Very loud, but very sweet music. That was how I got into Places Like This, the fourth album from the Australian band Architecture in Helsinki.

There are currently five members in the band, but I swear sometimes it sounds like five times that many. They all play multiple instruments and they even filmed one of their music videos on trampolines. ‘Nuff said. Their music sits somewhere in between manic and maniacal and they never fail to hype me up for things I really don’t want to do (I’m talking to you, homework).

See if you can find the album title in their cover art! It took me forever :D
