Today’s iPhone Realeases
It seems like every day, another of my favorite Windows Mobile games comes to the iPhone. The latest to join this Exodus is Orions: Legend of Wizards from Pocket more Games. When I reviewed this one last year, I called it one of the best games for Windows Mobile. And the two expansion packs which have been released since that time have only made it stronger.
So, how will the iPhone version compare/ Well, that is a question which will have to wait for another day (or at least a review coming soon). For now, though, I will say I was disappointed not to find the expansion packs in the App Store. The Second Age expansion pack brought a number of new cards, and the Deck Masters pack brought some exciting new gameplay modes. So, hopefully, these will make their way to the App Store soon. In the meantime, check out the original Orions at the iTunes app Store for the fantastic price
(limited time only) of $1.99 (users of the Windows Mobile version will remember this same game including a $19.99 price tag.)
The second game released to the App Store today was Board Games from Astraware. Yes, I know, this is something like three games in a row for a release from Astraware. I may start bringing you the news when they do not release a game. In the meantime, Astraware Board games has been one of my favorite Astraware games. It is a pack of nine classic board games. Although they shunned the dial-a-game menu from the Windows Mobile version, the rest of the pack, including gameplay and animation, is just as good as the Windows Mobile version. Check out more information, here, and then head over to the iTunes App Store where you will find Astraware Board Games for only $4.99.

Hehe I linked to your review in the Orions topic on the TouchArcade forums so I’m sure you got a few extra visitors because of that.
While you’re browsing the App Store, be sure to check out (among others) Gamebox Asia. PDAMill is porting games to the iPlatform and they’re selling for just $0,99.
So while I’m normally not purchasing games for the iPod Touch when I already have them for the PPC, Orions and Gamebox Asia are really tempting…
(Still trying to hold off though, Rolando is coming, and I also have my eyes on Frenzic… I wish I could exchange the Mobihand gift certificate I still have for an iTunes gift card!)

Thanks, SPM, I completely forgot to post on PDAMill coming to the iPhone. The new games have been coming so fast and furious lately. Almost all of my Windows Mobile favorites are here…Which probably does not bode well for WinMo.
And thanks for the link.
