As the local Palm fan, I do not often get the chance to talk about ‘good’ breaking news.  Palm news has been full of delayed OS, and low stock prices.  HOWEVER, Palm announced a special invitation only event for CES 2009.  The wording on the invite says: “Come to CES to see all that Palm New-ness you’ve been waiting for.”  Hmmm…that doesn’t sound like another delay to me.  My guess is that the new OS will be revealed along with a new device to show off all of that goodness.  I am hoping we will also found out which carrier will be the first to debut this new smartphone.  I am going to say that the phone will be touchscreen with a slide-out keyboard, and will transform into a robot that will do your laundry.  The last part might be a bit of a reach, but one can dream.  Check out the full invite at Palminfocenter.com.
