Thank You For Being Our Friend…Sponsor Love!
Posted by: dgoldring on Nov 03 2008
Anyone who has spent any time here at JAMM lately has probably noticed the significant increase in our advertising. We have been extremely fortunate to have a number of friends who have helped us along the way by purchasing advertising space. From time to time, I like to come on here and recognize all of our advertisers. If you enjoy reading JAMM, click on through any of the ads to learn more about these fantastic Windows Mobile companies. And read on to learn some other easy ways you can help out and make JAMM the best site on the Internet.
The first sponsor I want to mention is the first thing you see on the site: that giant banner on top. That space is owned by one of my favorite Windows Mobile game developers, Astraware. I have been reviewing Astraware games since I started writing Windows Mobile reviews (Astraware Sudoku was my second review ever.) In that time, I have reviewed dozens of Astraware games, and have found almost nothing to dislike about them. I have been thrilled to make the move with them to the iPhone platform, and I am excited to find some of my favorite games getting even better on the iPhone.
OK. Let’s direct our attention to the field of six over in the right hand sidebar. This field contains some real Windows Mobile stalwarts, and some of my favorite companies. First is Pool Rebel, which is an absolutely fantastic pool game for Windows Mobile. It has just about the best physics I have seen in any pool game. Next to that is Iambic, who was well known for some amazing Palm software before making the move to Windows Mobile. Check out their Health Diet Manager.
In the second row is PPC Techs, who makes many of my favorite Windows Mobile accessories, including the Write Shield screen protector and Lil Sync charging cable. In fact, we are very fortunate because one of our contributors is a PPC Techs employee. Next to them is another fantastic Windows Mobile company, SBSH. Their programs are consistently among the first programs I load on my device. Of course, even though they are a sponsor on the site, they still will not tell me what SBSH means.
The last two in the field are both brought to us from Vito Technologies. Winterface is the latest in their iWindows Mobile line, which is designed to give an iPhone-like feel to Windows Mobile. I have been using Winterface extensively and it is really a fantastic extension of the traditional Windows Mobile interface. Along with Winterface, Vito recently announced their new online task manager, Task2Gather. Task2Gather uses a refreshingly unique interface, allows you to share tasks among team members, and even offers a client for your Windows Mobile device and iPhone. Simply put, it is an extremely robust and feature rich task manager.
The last two on-site advertisers are WebIS and Resco, both of which can be found in those big tall skyscraper ads. WebIS, or course, if known for the flagship programs like FlexMail and Pocket Informant. And I have to admit, there is probably no program I have been anticipating on the iPhone more than Pocket Informant.
The folks over at Resco are probably best known for revolutionizing the way you look at files on your Windows Mobile device with their Resco File Explorer. Since then, however, they have become experts in finger friendly design, offering numerous finger friendly applications and games, including their upcoming contact manager, which Lauren told you about the other day.
Of course, in addition to the on-site advertisers you see here, I would be remiss if I did not mention our friends at ilium Software. Although they have a policy prohibiting sponsoring any specific sites, that should not be taken as an indication that Ilium has not offered significant support. JAMM would not be nearly the site it is today without the amazing support of of Ilium Software.
So, a big thank you to all of the developers who have supported JAMM and helped sponsor the site. Thanks to their contributions, we have been able to bring you reviews of hardware and devices which we would not have otherwise been able to obtain, as well as so much software which these and other developers so generously provide. So, don’t be shy. go ahead and click those sponsor images and make your device work for you.
