I got, You got, We all got, Android!

It’s really been an exciting trip, watching the introduction of the HTC/T-Mobile G1 Android phone. I’m watching from afar, as you know, so I probably have a different take on it to most. Especially those that actually have their hands on the G1 at the moment. With all of the mobile news I try to digest every day, I do form opinions, and Android has left me with many questions.
HTC did what they promised and released the first GooPhone, but lot’s of other companies signed up for the Open Handset Alliance, and I suppose it’s about time they waded into the picture. Who else is wading into the melee?
An android of science fiction status, is somewhere between human and machine, by definition,
adj.
Possessing human features.
n.
An automaton that is created from biological materials and resembles a human. Also called humanoid.
A huge leap for a mobile phone OS, but the Androids are coming
Now that the ice has been broken, and there is some considerable uptake of the new Android OS with a single device, looks like other developers and device manufacturers are prepared to dip their toes into what has previously been the tepid pool of Android devices. No one really wants to be first. Although someone had to be, now it is starting to look like a deluge.
Motorola have been making noises, and today we learn Asus are working on a new Android handset, how could they have time, they have to re-invent the Eee PC again!
Then we see OpenMoko is also developing an Android handset
We are in a time that just screams change, a new OS that seems to offer unlimited possibilities, that can be adapted by any device builder, and manipulated by any user that has the nouse to program for the OS, Oh the anticipation.
All of this just has to be good, but will it make people change platforms?
