New Sony Reader PRS-700…Now With Touch Screen

Isn’t this the way it always works.  Just when I finally broke down and bought myself an ebook reader (the Sony PRS-505), they go and announce an upgrade.  And this one looks pretty slick.  The new PRS-700 ebook reader from Sony is the first to feature a full touch screen, so you can come even closer to the real experience of reading a book…without actually reading a book.  Instead of pressing a button, a quick swipe across the screen will turn the page.   It comes with a stylus and on-screen keyboard, but is otherwise pretty similar looking to the PRS-505 (which I will be reviewing soon.)

The PRS-700 is expected to be available before the holiday shopping season gets into full swing for approximately $400.
