Fight off waves of Mungolans in your trusty…Platypus?

Sharks, eagles, vipers, and other predatory animals are for wussies. Everybody knows it takes a real hero to fight the enemy in a ship named after the Platypus. Since you know your name isn’t going to scare the enemy, it’s up to your fighting skills to do the dirty work for you in Astraware’s new side-scrolling shooter. You might think you’ve seen side-scrollers before – but have you seen them made out of clay?! Yeah, I didn’t think so.

The city of Collosatropolis is under attack, and it’s your job to defend it! As an ace Platypus pilot, it’ll be your job to “Fly across the squashy fields and trees, avoid the snowy mountains and protect your planet.” There are four worlds for your to traverse, and a ton of pickups for you to use to gain the advantage in combat. So what are you waiting for? Don’t be a wuss, get Platypus!

Platypus is available for both WM versions, Palm, BB, UIQ, and the S60 platform. The cost seems a little steep at $19.95 (there’s a discount for Astraware club members), but I’d have to check out a review before I cast some final JAMM judgement. The game’s website is here.
