Now This Is Mobile Technology! part 20
The new JAMM is a somewhat more eclectic place, we are trying to focus on more mobile platforms, as well as diverse iterations of what is uncommonly labled mobile tech. Recently Heather came up with an idea to cover green mobile technology.
When we say Green, we mean ecologically friendly, and her post about the earthdrive focused on sustainable/renewable resources.
So I thought I’d wade into the swamp with an eco friendly Idea, what if your car resists your driving habit’s to save the environment?
Ok, just so you know, this doesn’t mean I’m going to stop bathing, grow dreadlocks and start wearing tie dyed T-shirts,[just thought I’d better reassure you that there are not any hippies around here, I think???].
We all know that being a leadfoot driver damages our environment, and with the price of fuel today, the wallet damage is also a deterrent to driving.
What if there were a mobile technology to limit your fuel expenditure whilst driving, an actual response to your actions with the accelerator that helped you save fuel and cut emissions. These days we don’t give much credit to our automobiles, but they are a haven for technology that goes sight unseen and is well, taken for granted, if not totally ignored. I mean “It’s a Car right”?”
Well cars have become so much more, and this from Nissan is an eco friendly inclusion that a lot of us should really consider
The Nissan Eco Pedal helps you to save gas by pressing the gas pedal upward when the vehicle is moving too quickly for it’s own good. Nissan claims that the system can improve fuel efficiency by as much as 10%.
This new computech will stop you burning your wallet, with some simple physical feedback, that might make you more mindful of the environment. This is incredible and simply makes sense, take the decision away from the individual, and let the computer do it!
In some cases it seems to be more efficient!
[did I just say that?]
