Review: Proporta’s Protective Macbook Sleeve

IMG_0109 I like the idea of a laptop sleeve more than a dedicated laptop bag. That way I can put the laptop in any kind of bag I’ve got on the go (it just happens to fit really well into my GAP Messenger bag) and the sleeve can just stay in the back during use, or stay under the laptop like a kind of placemat.  Proporta’s Macbook Sleeve seemed like just the kind of case for me. Using cases is a simple enough ordeal, but the real merits of a case tend to come out after a week or two of use – how does the sleeve fair in the everyday?

PowerPlus Toucan Helping to Save the Pandas

We here at JAMM are starting a new series called ‘Save the Pandas’.  The focus of the series is to examine environmentally friendly, or green, gadgets.  You are probably asking why ‘Save the Pandas’, and not ‘Save the Planet’ or Save the Earth’.  Saving the Earth is an enormous task, and it can just seem overwhelming.  So many people think that one person can’t make a difference in such a huge project.  Focusing on just one animal, makes the task seem smaller and more attainable.  Plus, you have something you can see and understand.  The world is huge, and we only ever see the small area around our homes.  Except for astronauts, no one really sees the Earth with their naked eye.  Also, pandas are  extremely cute.  If someone asked you to help that little baby Panda, could you say ‘No’?  Not even Ebenezer Scrooge could turn that little face down.  Finally, the best reason of all, I love Pandas!!!  They are my favorite animal, and if I could have a pet panda, I absolutely would.  This finally brings me to our green, panda saving gadget, the PowerPlus Toucan MP4 player.   This player can be charged via the integrated solar panel.

Site Maintenance: Doing some work…

F9033115-0697-45FA-8695-FF222B58F028.jpg

Hey all – just FYI, throughout the day I’m going to be doing some work on the sidebars. I wanted to post this because there’s a good chance that a couple times throughout the day you’re going to see some script errors over on the side. This should not affect the ability to look at posts, but it is definitely going to affect the sidebars. I’m going to try to keep it at a minimum – but sometimes you have to break things to make them better.

The nice thing is once I get done the page load times should be magnitudes faster and we should be rid of those pesky CPU errors… (I Hope)!
