Breaking news: The good folks over at PPCTechs have just come out with some great new accessories and services for the different models of iPods, iPod Touch and iPhones.
They’ve released the WriteSHIELD(r) Premium Screen Protector for the iPhone 3G, as well as their Lil’ Sync (r) sync and charge cables.
But! It gets better! They’ve also released a battery replacement service for the iPhone 4GB, iPhone 8GB and iPhone 16GB
PPCTechs is a major player in the field of converged device repairs, and the battery replacement service for the iPhone puts them ahead of the rest. As a JAMM member, use the discount code JAMMDISC to receive a 10% discount off all repairs and accessories.
I like the idea of a laptop sleeve more than a dedicated laptop bag. That way I can put the laptop in any kind of bag I’ve got on the go (it just happens to fit really well into my GAP Messenger bag) and the sleeve can just stay in the back during use, or stay under the laptop like a kind of placemat. Proporta’s Macbook Sleeve seemed like just the kind of case for me. Using cases is a simple enough ordeal, but the real merits of a case tend to come out after a week or two of use – how does the sleeve fair in the everyday?
Hit the jump to find out!
We here at JAMM are starting a new series called ‘Save the Pandas’. The focus of the series is to examine environmentally friendly, or green, gadgets. You are probably asking why ‘Save the Pandas’, and not ‘Save the Planet’ or Save the Earth’. Saving the Earth is an enormous task, and it can just seem overwhelming. So many people think that one person can’t make a difference in such a huge project. Focusing on just one animal, makes the task seem smaller and more attainable. Plus, you have something you can see and understand. The world is huge, and we only ever see the small area around our homes. Except for astronauts, no one really sees the Earth with their naked eye. Also, pandas are extremely cute. If someone asked you to help that little baby Panda, could you say ‘No’? Not even Ebenezer Scrooge could turn that little face down. Finally, the best reason of all, I love Pandas!!! They are my favorite animal, and if I could have a pet panda, I absolutely would. This finally brings me to our green, panda saving gadget, the PowerPlus Toucan MP4 player. This player can be charged via the integrated solar panel.

This is not your average simulated aquarium! Astraware have just released a revamped version of their popular game Insaniquarium for Palm and Windows Mobile. Insaniquarium Deluxe features “shinier graphics, more game modes, more unlockable pets, and more challenging aliens.” Yep, that’s right, aliens.
Feed your fish and fight off aliens in the craziest aquarium ever!
- Feed your fish and keep them healthy
- Protect them from dangerous alien creatures
- Collect coins and jewels to make money and upgrade your tank and weapons
- 3 fun game modes – Adventure, Time Trial, and Challenge
- Enjoy hours of frantic aquarium fun!
Look for a JAMM review soon! We’ve got something special planned for this one…

Hey all – just FYI, throughout the day I’m going to be doing some work on the sidebars. I wanted to post this because there’s a good chance that a couple times throughout the day you’re going to see some script errors over on the side. This should not affect the ability to look at posts, but it is definitely going to affect the sidebars. I’m going to try to keep it at a minimum – but sometimes you have to break things to make them better.
The nice thing is once I get done the page load times should be magnitudes faster and we should be rid of those pesky CPU errors… (I Hope)!
