Review: Sony Ericsson HBH-DS220 Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Posted by: Ragart on Aug 31 2008 - 1,075 viewsBefore we jump into this review, let’s try and set aside all the problems we might have with Bluetooth and its software implementations. Forget the fact that the iPhone doesn’t really support it well, or that it can drain your battery like a leech on blood pudding. Let’s think about how limited a lot of the hardware is. You’ve got your Plantronics 590A or your Etymotic ety8’s, but both these solutions lock you into a certain kind of form factor. They’re earbuds that you can’t change, or they’re big headphones that can be cumbersome to tuck away when not in use.
Now that the problem is set out before us, let’s talk about a solution (spelled HBH-DS220, in this case). Sony Ericsson’s little headset promises you flawless stereo Bluetooth sound without compromising the ability choose your own headphones. Hit the jump for more!

HTC Dream… or your worst nightmare?
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Aug 31 2008 - 66 views
Now I don’t know if it’s the leopard skin background, or the fact that this is probably the ugliest HTC device that I’ve seen in a long time, you’d have to assume that the OS makes up for it. The aforementioned specs for the Dream, let’s face it, were not super, as far as the current batch of HTC devices go.
More info has come to light, suggesting that the original quoted specs were undercooked, and the dream is empowered with 256Rom/128Ram, which would make a lot more sense. We’ve also got a new moniker, the G1
The G1’s specs and features are still unknown but it is rumoured to sport a 528Mhz Qualcomm 7201 processor; Data kit for USB connectivity in the box; 128MB Internal RAM; 256MB Internal ROM, 1GB MicroSD card; Dedicated camera button; 3.1MP camera (no flash) 2048 x 1536; Video playback files - H.264, streaming, 3GPP, MPEG4, and Codec 3GP and a Dedicated YouTube Player. Yes, I agree the memory is really low, but this is still a rumour so take it with a grain of salt.
All right I’m looking at this and I’m thinking, well I’m revising my thoughts, the images are bad, and actually are probably misleading. I’m taken aback by the unfamiliar design, and I’m hoping this works, it’s like a weird tilt. The T-Mobile branding and the cornucopia of comparative shots, seem to defy the possibility of a mock-up, but the dream might still be something that keeps you awake at night.

Review: Apple iPod Touch 16 GB. Part 5: iTunes and Conclusion
Posted by: dgoldring on Aug 30 2008 - 177 views
The final component of the iPod Touch puzzle is iTunes. Of course, this is the connection between your computer and your iPod Touch. And I will admit that this is a big reason I put off purchasing an iPhone for so long. I have never been a fan of iTunes, and I really do not like the idea of using a single proprietary system to handle my media. I much prefer other media players which allow you to use multiple formats and even drag and drop your media onto your device. The combination of the iPod Touch interface and the App Store, however, was ultimately too much for me to overlook. ITunes became a necessary evil and I took the plunge. So, let’s take a closer look at the interface that launched 1000 iPods, and then on to a few other miscellaneous items which I did not mention in previous articles.

Review: Flipping for the Sena Case for Centro
Posted by: weiganla on Aug 30 2008 - 108 viewsI got my Palm Centro in April, and ever since then it has spent most of its time bumping around in a side pocket inside my purse. Usually I have my new gadgets safely wrapped up in cases almost as soon as I get them home, but I just couldn’t find anything I could convince myself to live with. My adorable little Centro has basically been protected by a pair of crossed fingers, and I’m lucky it isn’t as scratched up as an extra from Jurassic Park.
Then someone suggested I check out Sena Cases. They make two cases for the Centro, the LeatherSkin and the MagnetFlipper, and they were kind enough to send me a review sample of the second.
If I was a casemaker, the Centro’s distinctive styling, truckload of buttons and ports, and chunky dimensions would send me screaming into the distance. Fortunately Sena reacted better. They pride themselves on beautiful leather, meticulous craftsmanship, and a slim profile, but to make a good Centro case they’d have to hit more home runs than a doped-up Barry Bonds.
Did Sena pull it off? Hit the jump to find out!

Station Break: Six Degrees Of Separation
Posted by: danc on Aug 29 2008 - 48 views
My musical taste is pretty eclectic. I like classic rock, alternative rock, and some Jazz. I listen to Boston and Pink, The Police and Jamiroquai. I love going to the symphony but do it far too rarely. I HATE rap but am pretty open to just about everything else.
One of my favorite things musically is discovering new artists. Fortunately, with so many talented people the world over, there is always something new. The best example comes from a single song in a single movie. That one song introduced me to an entirely new musical world that, over the last few years, has become my most-listened to style.
