Palm’s Cloak and Dagger Deals

palm-spy Palm obviously thinks that corporate transparency is overrated. In an annual SEC filing last Friday, they disclosed the purchases of three companies for about $20M total, but apparently their names would be too much to ask. It’s not like consumers or investors care, right?

All we know is Palm bought “two sole proprietorships focused on mobile computing and media devices, one a developer of user interface environments and the other a developer of email software applications” and “substantially all of the assets of a corporation focused on developing solutions to enhance the performance of web applications.”

Rumor says that two of the acquisitions are Chattermail and Pixio (headed by an ex-iPod interface designer), but who knows. Maybe getting Nova out is taking so long because everything goes a lot slower when you’re paranoid. I thought Palm’s CEO was Ed Colligan, not John LeCarre!
