Toughbooks Get Centrino 2 Technology

It’s always exciting to see an existing platform or line of products get a facelift. As technology today gets outdated usually around every 4-6 months (that’s how long I see them for sale before they disappear), a new model will usually replace the older model brining in a slew of new technology including but not limited to a faster processor, better battery savings, longer range wireless, and more. In the case of Panasonic’s Toughbook, it will be replacing the older Centrinos with Centrino 2 technology which includes better graphics, 45nm architecture with hafnium infused chips to prevent power loss, and next-gen wireless N. Of course, you’ll still get the run of the mill ruggedness of a Toughbook with a spill resistant keyboard, shock protected hard drive, and they of course can still take a beating. When I was selling Toughbooks, I ’d literally pound hard on the Toughbook shell to demonstrate it’s toughness. People tend to look at what the banging (and I do mean LOUD banging) was all about. This notebook surely is tough and you certainly do get what you pay for…with the case of the upcoming Toughbook models CF-52 and CF-74 priced at $1,949 and $3,199 respectively with differences being in the screen size - 15 inches for the CF-52 and 13 inches for the CF-74.
