WinMo 6.1 for Sprint Mogul, It’s Official!

Thanks to Wayne over at Gear Diary for the heads up on the Official Update to Windows Mobile 6.1 for the
Mogul. I’m always looking for news like this to share with you guys. I know one person who is probably a happy camper, and spending most of his night reloading all of his apps because of the update.
Obviously there are a few new things included, like updated internet explorer, and a dedicated Task Manager.
1. Upgrades the operating system from Windows Mobile® 6.0 Professional to Windows Mobile® 6.1 Professional
2. Adds Sprint TV
3. Includes all enhancements incorporated in previous software upgrades including:– EV-DO Rev. A functionality for faster download and upload speeds when utilizing data services wherever EV-DO Rev. A coverage is available.
– Advanced GPS functionality including the Sprint Navigation application.
- Adds a Task Manager to the Today screen for easier access and management of running programs.
Get ready, backup, and reinstall the rom, and restore, the OS is a real upgrade!

Apparently this is a not so fast double take. HTC released it and then unreleased it only to promise to rerelease it soon.
I went over last night and found that not only was the ROM gone, the whole download page was gone. A quick search revealed that they released it on Friday only to pull it in favor of a Monday release.
Thanks HTC. I would much rather have to spend hours backing up and reinstalling all of my software and settings at the start of the work week, instead of over a leisurely weekend.
Sheesh.
Doug
