The Ultimate Warranty From Ultimate Ears

From time to time, I like to recognize companies which I feel have exceptional customer service.  Some of you may recall some time ago, I reviewed the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3 earphones.  And I have to admit that even long after I finished the review, they remained one of my absolute favorite headphones.

Well, you can imagine how upset I must have been, therefore, when out of the blue, they just broke.  I could not figure out why, they just stopped working in the left ear.  I must have damaged the speaker on that side, but I have no idea how I did that.

Anyway, I was upset, but I had other headphones to review anyway, so I moved on.  Well, some time later, I just happened to be chatting with one of the PR people from Ultimate Ears.  I mentioned that mine had broken, and he almost immediately blurted out that Ultimate Ears had a two year warranty.  How could I have forgotten about that?

He assured me that he would take care of things.  A few days later, a package arrived from Ultimate Ears with a brand new Super.fi 3 inside.  Beautiful.  And they did not ask for the old ones back or try to fix them first.

I cannot say enough about how impressed I was with Ultimate Ears, their two year warranty, and their customer service.  Thank you, Ultimate Ears!

Shure also has a decent warranty. I damaged mine and sent them in, got a new box within a week and a half.

Logitech has INCREDIBLE customer support. They’ve replaced two of my mice that have died. I loved my old mice, but they kept dying, so I opted for a wired one and they gave it to me with no hassle.

That’s great! Customer support is (should be) the backbone of any company.
I remember when I damaged my iPod earbuds while opening the package, I took them to an Apple store and told them I damaged them and would like to buy more, they just gave me another set – without even seeing the damaged ones!

What did you do with your broken pair? I bought a used pair online and one of my ears broke and I’ve been searching high and low for somewhere that sells replacements. The UE customer service is currently down but is scheduled to be back up today.

Sorry, Toby. Part of the warranty requires that you send the broken ones back. So they have been returned to UE.
