Astraware and Handmark to make iPhone more iFun (get it? They sound similar.)
Ever heard of Bejeweled? It’s a big hit on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. It’s not really a big hit on the iPhone because there aren’t really that many games out for it yet. But that’s going to change this year when Astraware and Handmark start to develop for Apple’s new mobile platform.
They’ve released a news post stating as much, and they’ve also got a preview site where you can sign up to get e-mail updates about their new development. Luckily, JAMM has the link for you right here.
I’m really psyched about seeing more games for the iPhone, as long as they don’t try to do too much “realistic” 3D style stuff. I think the platform will be fantastic for games as long as developers try to create unique experiences for the device, instead of porting games made for things like d-pads and shoulder buttons. I want something to make use of sensors in a more than tacked-on way. Blow us away, Astraware!
