Facebook rocks as a social networking site. Unfortunately it’s not as easy to mainline Facebook away from the computer. Facebook has a mobile-optimized website, but it’s not going to win any beauty pageants and is kind of tough to work with. Practically every cellphone out there has a camera, but Mobile Facebook won’t let you upload pictures!

Palm just came to the rescue for Centro, Treo 655p or 680 users with a free mobile application. It handles just about everything from classic Facebook — News Feeds, status updates, messages, friend requests and profiles, Wall — plus it posts pics and videos straight from your smartphone and lets you call your friends. Cool! I’m downloading now to check it out on my Centro.

(FYI, BlackBerry also has a free dedicated app, and I bet my socks there’ll be one for the iPhone this summer. WM users get the shaft again.)
