Netfront…Browser v3.5 for Windows Mobile Concept Version
Crap, who made me the Browser watcher? Netfront has been updated and no one knows about it, until now. I really like the way they have called it a concept version. When I first posted, took on the Beta, I was really impressed by some of the features of the Netfront v3.5, and I thought some of the features were fantastic. A couple of rom flashes later, I’d forgotten all about it till I got an email from Access the other day. The Beta has been updated with some new tweaks and some responses to things people weren’t quite happy with.
New Features
- Speed Improvements
- Faster first draw speed
- Faster scrolling
- Faster zooming
- Faster rendering mode switching
- Swift Navi.
- Animated zoom
- PageMap
- Column Rendering
The nicest thing about the Netfront browser is the scrolling, other than that the configuration settings are numerous and confusing. The opposite of the Opera browser I was looking at the other day. It’s worth checking out, but you’ll need to take a hiatus from work to set it up!

When visiting a mobile website I still find PIE to be faster than either Netfront or Opera. On the other hand if I want to go to CNN the latter two are faster.
The only thing I’ve never liked about any Netfront version is all the pop-up screens it displays while visiting a secure website. Maybe it’s just me and there are settings to fix this but 2-3 pop-ups per site is too much….Opera gives me none nor does PIE.

I’ve always found that ice cream kinda ruined my opera or netfront experience, but that it went perfectly with pie.

btw Buzzard if you check back here again — are you still making skins? You made some awesome WAD/WA/PB skins, but i haven’t been on those forums in a while.

I don’t know what WAD/WA are. Must be some other bird.

I had the same assumption so it’s good to have it cleared up. Then indeed a “Welcome” is at it’s place!
WAD and WA are PPC software that enhance the look of your device, mostly the Today screen and the top bar (and task manager).

Thanks for the welcome but I’ve been visiting this site since it began and have had this user name for many years. Keep up the great work!

Hehe great.
I don’t remember you actively commenting a lot so then welcome to the commenters section. And if I’m wrong on that as wel… I should go sit in a corner and be ashamed of myself.

Join me in the corner, Stefan! I’ve got food and drinks. It’s fun to be ashamed ^_^
Well then belated welcome, buzzard (from someone who’s been around for less time, no less)
Hope to see you more around the comments section!
