Unconfirmed tidbits about the long-awaited addition to Palm’s popular Treo line have been all over the Net since Bill Gates flashed a pic of a Treo-looking thingummy during his CES keynote back in January. Then there was the infamous leaked Sprint roadmap showing a July release date for the Treo 800w.

Now someone’s claiming to actually have pictures of the thing. If these are accurate, it’s a paragon of beauty — especially the attractive "Carrier" logo at the top.

Call me a skeptic, but there’s nothing here that convinces me this is the real deal instead of, say, an early Centro prototype. It’s hard to tell if this device is running Windows Mobile 6.1 with the screen off. There’s also nothing that screams "I have EVDO-Rev A, GPS, and WiFi" like the rumored specs for the Treo 800w. Just as long as the real thing doesn’t say "Carrier."
