HTC Ready To Launch Android Phone?
Posted by: weiganla on Apr 10 2008
This mysterious ad has been seen floating around the Internet and sending the blogosphere into wild speculation. Heck, forget the blogosphere, I’m in wild speculation too.
Is it the gPhone? Most people seem to think HTC will be launching an Android-based Google Phone. Supposedly HTC had previously set a date of mid-2008 for announcing an Android device, rumored to be called the Dream. Other posters are betting on new Windows Mobile models that could replace the Touch and the Kaiser aka TyTN II aka Tilt.
Actually, both groups are right. HTC is planning to replace the Tilt and the Touch with the Android-powered Slant and Feel. Okay, seriously, we can’t know what HTC has up its sleeve short of industrial espionage, but admitting that is no fun. Personally, the ad’s wording makes me suspect a line of devices, not a single one. Which is probably the wimpiest, most useless prediction you’ll see on the Web.
Anyway, who knows if a GooPhone is actually ready to launch, but considering Apple is holding a Developers Conference including the iPhone OS starting June 9, Google and HTC had better get moving fast.
What do you think the "next wave of HTC Innovation" is? What would you like to see on an HTC-made Android phone?
