Iswish,… I wish
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Apr 30 2008 - 487 viewsWow put the iPhone interface on any WinMo device, you know what you’ve been waiting for. I was looking for some great stuff when I found this over at Endgadget tonight but sadly, it’s vaporware at the moment. There’s no trial just a promo video and some explanation of how it works.
It piqued my interest cause of the Axim it was displayed/demo’d on, I can’t wait for this one.
There’s no Beta yet, although Flick software are saying early May, so look out for this!

Where Did The Arcade Go? It’s Right Over Here
Posted by: PatrickJ on Apr 27 2008 - 337 views
A lot of you have been long-time fans of The Arcade, Doug Goldring’s excellent monthly roundup of freeware games. And you may have been wondering where it has gone since Doug’s move away from JAMM and over to MyTodayScreen.
Well, I’m happy to say … it’s right HERE, over at MyTodayScreen, where it will continue to be a regular monthly fixture. Doug’s got a great intro on his post, covering the change of home for The Arcade, and filling you in a little on how close to his heart the series is. I’ve always known that, and it’s a big part of why the series is so great and popular.
This month’s featured *free* games in The Arcade include a mathematics game, a puzzle challenge, and even a great-looking role-playing game that used to be a paid-for application.
For any of you who aren’t yet familiar with The Arcade, where have you been??? Well, nevermind that - here’s a good Intro to the series from Doug:
Each month, I scour the web, searching for free games. There are a lot out there and finding good ones is rarely a problem. Then, at the end of each month (on my calendar, it falls on the fourth Sunday), I post a roundup of five free games.
Oh, and if you need one more reason to check out the latest incarnation and installment of The Arcade, it’s also got a snazzy new animated graphic! So head on over and check it out at:

I’m A Cheapskate!

I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, but things come up and ideas go on the backbench.
There’s an incredible amount of freeware out, and compatible with Windows Mobile of all persuasions, but if you are not looking for it, you won’t find it. I know there’s a whole heap of people out there who use free apps every day, like myself. It’s nice to share you know. What I thought I’d do is once a week give you some opportunities to try free things I’ve been looking at. I won’t be rating the apps or reviewing them, just giving a heads up. If I drop a real must have I’ll leave it up to you to tell me and the JAMM community in the comments. So for the wallet not taker outers

Something for the Skinheads!
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Apr 27 2008 - 253 viewsNo Clock Work Orange references today, I’m talking about the type of skins that may win you a HTC Touch. When I reviewed Resco Keyboard 5.0 back in January, I commented on the amount of nice looking skins included. I know of a few people who have been designing their own skins for the SIP as well, now they can take advantage of their knowledge.
Resco (www.resco.net), the leading developer of end-user mobile applications, announced today the start of its “Best Skin Contest” for their popular software input panel application — Resco Keyboard Pro. Starting today for the period of one month, users will be able to add their own skins and thus participate in the contest. Everyone who submits their own, original skin automatically gets a free license of Resco Keyboard PRO. People will be able to download, try out and since May 23, 2008 vote for the skin they like the most. The winners will be announced in mid June.
Prizes:
- Winner — A brand new device — HTC Touch
- First runner up — Resco Media Suite and Resco Brain Suite
- Second runner up — Resco Media Suite

PDAmill Empties the Palm Vault! All Palm OS Titles FREE!!
Posted by: weiganla on Apr 26 2008 - 452 views
Sorry, I got a little excited there. But can you blame me? PDAmill, who won Handango’s 2004 Pocket PC Developer of the Year award despite only making games, has just announced that they are making all of their titles for Palm OS available to the public for FREE! The slate includes classics like the tongue-in-cheek RPG Arvale and the mollusk mayhem Snails.
PDAmill discontinued Palm OS development in February 2007, and until now those games were only available to previous purchasers. This announcement doesn’t mean they’re going to start making Palm games again, more like they’re tired of people bugging them about it.
The free, full, unlocked titles are available for 320×320 and 480×320 Palm OS 5 devices and are completely "download at your own risk."
However, please be advised that these titles come with no warranty, no support, and may well not work on your device (the very reason we discontinued development for the platform). If you have any troubles with the games, do not contact support as you will not receive a reply.
You can’t say they didn’t warn you. On the other hand, I’ve never been much good at listening to warnings… Get ‘em here!
