Get My Today Screen On Your Today Screen!

No I’m not going to try to convince you to use any of my Today screen stylings to liven up your device – in fact, my customizations were never really that exciting anyway. Something that is exciting today is the launch of a new site with a strong focus on Windows Mobile – My Today Screen.
My Today Screen is due to be officially launched next week – on April 1st – and was founded by Tariq Bamadhaj, who also runs the Etenblog.com site, and our very good friend and esteemed former editor and contributor here at JAMM, Doug Goldring. Doug has always been one of my favorite writers and reviewers, and a favorite to many of you as well I’m sure – and now we’ve all got a great new site to follow him at. We’ve already added it to our Favorite Sites listing in our sidebar, and subscribed to the RSS feed of course.
Even though the site hasn’t officially launched yet, they’ve already got a great group of contributors, and some excellent content up.
Last night I particularly enjoyed reading Doug’s typically excellent and thorough review of Extrema Agenda. I won’t give away too much of Doug’s review of course, but the big takeaway from it is that it looks like there is finally a third serious contender in the Windows Mobile PIM applications arena, as Extreme Agenda has some unique and appealing features and capabilities that match up to the current leaders (PI and Agenda Fusion / Agenda One).

One of the features of Extreme Agenda that looks especially innovative is its Extreme Spinner, shown in the screencap above:
I have never used another PIM whose view selection contained such limitless possibilities. Usually, you are faced with either a fixed arrangement of buttons, or a menu of buttons from which to choose. The ability to add shortcuts, contacts, and URL’s makes the Extreme Agenda Spinner one of the easiest ways to access information from anywhere on your device.
The Extreme Agenda review is well worth a read, especially if you’re sizing up your PIM program options.
So My Today Screen is already off to a flying start – the site looks superb and has a great tam running it. I know I’ll be a regular visitor and hope lots of you will be as well. You can find it at:

Thanks, Patrick and hello JAMM.
It still feels a little strange to be only a reader and commenter. Thanks for all of the kind words from you and the JAMM staff and community. We are very excited about the new site and hope all of the folks here at JAMM will come join us for our official launch next week. We’ll be having seven days of giveaways with prizes totalling over $1000.
