Giveaway of the Day – Evernote Beta

Alright – today definitely is a Good Friday. Why? Well today you can get in on the Evernote Beta for free! What makes that good? Pretty much everything to be honest with you. I’ve been testing this out for a short while now and I LOVE IT! For anyone not familiar with Evernote – check out my slightly aging review HERE. Suffice it to say that this new beta blows the old version out of the water as far as mobility and accessibility from multiple platforms.

The latest version of Evernote, currently an invitation-only beta, gives users more options than ever before to create and find their memories – a Windows version (main download links), Mac version, Web version, Windows Mobile version, Mobile Web version, browser web page clippers, and more. All clients can be synchronized to one another via the web, ensuring that anything created in one place is accessible from all others.

In addition, all users now have access to Evernote’s powerful image recognition, which recognizes text inside of images so users can take camera phone snapshots of anything from whiteboards to wine labels.

Yes – that’s right its got a Windows, Mac AND Web version (which is really cool) and is compatible with iPhone Safari as well as PIE. I’ve used it on both versions and while the Safari version is a bit prettier the PIE version is just as functional…

Important information for Evernote 2.2 users: Please follow this link for information on making the transition to Evernote 3 Beta.

In addition, Evernote is giving away a full version of Evernote 2.2 for Windows (Main Download / Mirror 1 – 55.6 MB), normally $49.95.

Hit the link below for the rest of the details and the all important links. Make sure you get there by the end on the day (Friday) EST time or you’ll miss out!

As I also said on Gear Diary, there is also a Windows Mobile client for it!
At the moment it only allows you to create notes which you can then sync with the web client, but they plan to have a more feature-filled client for WM devices which can (hopefully) also synchronize data over ActiveSync so that I can stay away from the web client and just keep my PC and PPC data synced with a cable.

That part actually bugged me to no end… the Evernote 2.2 Techincal Preview for WinMo was a full featured client and you could keep everything locally. I hate that they made it “a companion” instead of a full app.

I actually considered going back to it… but the only way to keep everything sync’d and available for my iPhone is via the beta.
