Review: Proporta Alu-Leather Case for Microsoft 2G Zune (Flip Type)
Posted by: Aczon on Mar 19 2008
When Microsoft first announced that the second generation Zunes were coming, I knew I was going to get one sooner or later. One of the main attractions about getting the Zune 2G 4GB is the size, and it didn’t disappoint me a bit when I finally got my sweaty palms on it. I could go on and on about the Zune 2G, but this review is not about the Zune 2G, but the Proporta Alu-Leather Case. If you ever own a gadget that needed some kind of protection, then I can pretty much bet that you’ve heard of the name Proporta.
While I’m sure protecting such a precious gadget is a must, I wasn’t quite sure about the idea of wrapping it with a leather case. I really don’t want to add anymore size/weight to it, even if it means that I will carry around my Zune 2G without any case. That said, I wasn’t expecting much about the Alu-Leather Case in terms of actually changing my feeling towards using a case for my Zune. Once again, Proporta had proven me wrong. The Alu-Leather Case is a thing of beauty. I love it, and I’m glad that I gave it a chance.
Black is beautiful. The Proporta Alu-Leather Case is a perfect match for my Zune 2G.
This has probably been said many, many times, but it’s still worth repeating. The craftsmanship of this case is such a joy to look at. I have reviewed quite a few Proporta cases, and yet I still find myself smiling every time I see one. All the key features of trademark Proporta are right here. From the unique Proporta Aluminum "screen saver" system, to the secure magnetic clasp enclosure, it’s all Proporta.
The back of the case includes a eyelet for the included lanyard.
The Proporta Alu-Leather Case uses a C-Clip design to keep my Zune 2G in place, and keeps the screen in full view without removing my device from the case. I love this feature as it prevents the premature wear and tear of the device as you don’t have to be removing the device from the case constantly. Using a sheet of rigid, lightweight aircraft grade aluminum to line the case, it’s quite safe to say that my device is safe from crushing or impact shocks that I might have to deal with in the future.
You can take control of your device even without removing it from the case.
It also comes with a lanyard that you can attached to the back of the case. This is very cool, as the Zune 2G I have didn’t come with one. Now, when I’m on the go, I’ll just wrap it around my neck, and I’m good to go. Sure beats putting it in my pocket.
I have my Zune 2 for quite some time now, and I hardly take it out of my Alu-Leather Case. I can always be confident that no matter how clumsy I get, my device is always protected by this case. When you have this much protection and it actually makes your device look like a million bucks (even my Zune), then you have a winner in your hand, no doubt.
Every time you see this in a case, you know your device is protected.
If you are looking for a nice, and elegant leather case for your Zune 2G device, look no further. The Proporta Alu-Leather Case compliments the beauty of Zune like it’s a match made in gadget heaven. I really can’t say enough about the Proporta Alu-Leather Case. Throw in the Lifetime Warranty that comes with every Proporta product, and you’re set. I highly recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a nice case for their Zune 2 4/8GB.

Great job!
I’m enjoying my Proporta case right now, too.
First off - the images/pictures you’ve got KICK A%5. If you took them… dammed nice job.
Second - the Hot Stuff graphic is crackin me up.
Thanks guys.
@Brandon
Except for the one in the title, and the close-up of proporta screen saver. The rest is taken with my cheapo Canon Elph. I can’t seem to get a better shot using my Oly E500 DSLR (gotta be the user. LOL)
