Sprint Mogul Users: This ROM Is For You!

If the Sprint Mogul (PPC-6800) is your dream device (and it is still one of my favorites), then your dream is about to get…dreamier.  WMExperts is reporting what appears to be a relatively well substantiated rumor that Monday will be new ROM day.  Yes, Monday, March 10 is the day all of you Sprint mogul owners may be reloading all of your software after installing the ROM upgrade.  So, will this one be worth the effort it is sure to take?  Well, you tell me.  This ROM is said to include:

  • EVDO-Rev A
  • GPS
  • Bluetooth fixes
  • and probably more

Alas, none of these rumors have indicated that the Mogul will finally be getting Sprint TV (and I have never gotten a good explanation on why not) or Windows Mobile 6.1.

I’m glad you beat me to this, so you can’t whinge at me when you Hard reset, and reinstall. :D

I’m very excited about this one. Hopefully tomorrow is the day, and hopefully this is a stable upgrade! It’s been about two weeks, so I guess a good clean hard reset is in order.

Peter, I would never whine about that if the thing works. :) Though, I do need to do someplanning to figure out when I will have time for this.

My device could use some spring cleaning anyway. :)

Well, I’m home watching my kids today (my Monday “assignment”), and I’ve done an ESN swap so my Treo 700Wx is activated and taking calls, all so that my Mogul is “free” and ready to be hard reset, ROM Upgraded, and reloaded with my favorite apps.
Now, I only hope HTC got the memo about a 9:00 am EST release.
