Don’t Text and … Walk???

Wow.  I know texting is much more popular in Europe, but after over 10 years of living in the UK I never would’ve guessed the ‘Can’t walk and chew gum’ ratio was high enough to merit this:

Padded lampposts are being trialled in a London street to protect inattentive pedestrians.

A pilot scheme has been launched in Brick Lane after it was found to have the highest number of ‘walking and texting’ injuries in the country.

A study carried out by 118 118 found one in ten people has hurt themselves while focused on their mobile phone screen.

Lucky you can only drive around 5 miles an hour in the center of London I guess.  Maybe they should also test using bumper cars instead of real ones if you own a cellphone …
