Oh dear god: WoW on your mobile?!
This digital scare comes from mashable. While obviously not a true mobile version of Blizzard’s Massively Multiplayer Online RPG World of Warcraft, a Blizzard-made mobile applet could help you do things like check auctions and in-game mail while out in the real world. ![]()
Frankly, this scares the crap out of me (but not in a wet fart in a spacesuit kind of way). Obviously it’s just a small way to check in on the digital world of Azeroth while you’re away from your precious computer. But having played the darn game already, I know exactly how addicting it is. It can swallow literally eight hours at a time for just one quest, and it makes you bend your schedule around the game’s hours (because of monster spawn times) instead of allowing you to play when you want to. WoW is like a second or third job.
So giving junkies access to this addiction on a mobile phone looks like it’ll sap that last bit of free time from their lives — and if it isn’t offered for free, the last few dollars from their wallets
.
