the words “banana phone” come to mind when I see that curvature in the keyboard.

That’s funny. I was thinking “Jesus phone”

Interesting.

In the last year SE fully internalized UIQ, then sold part of it to Motorola. I wonderif this phone means that UIQ development will stop. Motorola involvement certainly didn’t do anything to speed it up.

This is a bit of a disappointment.

First, only a 65k color screen. So it won’t look as good as a SE P1i or Nokia N95. Not good enough for Sony, I would say.

Second, only a 3.2 MP camera – hey – isn’t that the same as my Tilt. Hey! Is this a Kaiser in a new case? Won’t be any Cybershot branding on this one.

Third, WinMob 6.0? Hopefully it will be upgraded to 6.1 when it comes out.

Perhaps, though, they’ll take some of the old UIQ 2 – not 3 – goodness and make a slick user interface. One that makes WinMob more attractive to the – ahem – less geekly amongst us.

I think a lot of these specs are preliminary and subject to change.

Though I do like the looks of that paneled interface for Windows Mobile. Very slick.

Very nice.

It seems as if the higher resolution of the screen may somewhat make up for the lack of colors, which may be limited by WinMob firmware, not the MFR spec.

Rumor is that the hardware was made by HTC and branded by Sony Ericsson. Not sure whether it is true or not, but it would not surprise me if it were.
