Power It Up With PPCTech’s Lil Sync USB Mobile Power Pack

PocketPC Tech has introduced a new, renewable usb charger for mobile devices. Weighing in at just 4.3 oz and at less than 3 inches wide and just over 2 inches high the Power Pack is a truly pocketable on-the-go power solution. Most importantly perhaps, it packs a 4400mAh capacity Li-ION battery in its tiny body.

I recently discovered how useful a backup battery can be, so I’m jazzed to see such a small back up battery that works with any mini-usb powered mobile device. The battery can even be recharged from a computer’s usb port. Fewer cables and power to spare- nice combination!

While a cable to charge the Power Pack is included, it should be noted that PPC Techs Lil Sync Cable or a similar sync and charge cable is required to connect your device to the Power Pack.

Regularly priced at $69 it can be had for just $59.99 during a current promotion.

You can check out the Power Pack at PPC Techs.

I use the little device from WalMart that uses four AA batteries (rechargeable or std). It does the same function but only costs $9.95.

I have something similar from another company. I guess the question is- do you want to rely on AA batteries or do you want something that can be recharged? Having used the former I like the latter a whole lot more.

Hey Ray, can you provide more info re the product you found at WalMart. I would like to pick one up.

IMHO, the AA battery has tremendous advantage over the one with built-in rechargeable batteries. The ones w/ built-in will cease to take a charge in about 1 or if lucky 2 years…that means either you hack the unit and replace the built-in batteries or most-likely you have to toss the unit.

The ideal unit will allow the replaceable batteries to be also charged from the same unit via either USB or AC outlet.

I have found such a unit but it is crappy looking. http://www.semsons.com/pocpowban.html
