Now that it’s been a few days and some of the excitement has settled down, it’s nice to see more detailed opinion pieces coming out on Microsoft’s possible takeover of Yahoo!.

Inside Microsoft has a very nicely laid out chart to show the overlapping features in the merger, and some predictions of what the future will hold for these areas. It is interesting to see how many similar services the two companies share. The other big question here is, of course, how do their current services hold up against Google’s? If one of the goals is to compete against Google, it would be nice to see how these Davids and Goliaths look in a giant features table, pie chart, bar graph face-off.

Another interesting view comes from WMExperts.com, which raises a very good question: we can make these speculations and notes all we want, but how much is Microsoft really going to try and integrate with Yahoo!? (I sound like I’m shouting, but Yahoo! has an exclamation mark!)
