I’m A Zune, you’re an iPod…We both got problems!

So I posted about a guy, yesterday, who’s got aural problems cause of his Zune! Today I’ve got a post about iPods causing aural peripheral problems. A rumour going around today, is saying that if you’ve an iPod classic you should probably steer clear of firmware update 1.1 unless your after a new hairdo!

According to TheStreet.com, a number of users are reporting the update causes a serious electrical problem with the capacious devices. The accusation is that installing the firmware creates an imbalance which sends residual electrical pulses through both the headphone jack and the docking connection.

Even more surprising, these pulses have been measured to be as high 500mv which it is claimed is high enough to upset attached equipment and potentially damage headphones.

Is that shocking, or what?, This is a rumour and I’ve gone back a few links/sources and even though the fault seems to be making news, it is not really confirmed. image Is this coincidence? or is there a problem that is surfacing at the moment that we are all unaware of, that is escalating, or has just not been deemed reportable before this?

Will you avoid the flytrap?
