Some Initial Hands-On Thoughts About The MacBook Air

I’m enjoying setting up the MacBook Air. (UNDERSTATEMENT)

As I am setting it up I thought I would log a few random thoughts—

-It is thinner and lighter than I had even expected.

-Having used a MacBook I like the size- feels familiar and comfortable.

-The screen is gorgeous!

-I’m not finding it slow- then again, I am not trying to do any video work on it.

-It doesn’t run hot like the MacBook but it isn’t exactly cool either.

-I began with 56gb of space- ouch! Removing languages I don’t use (all but two) saved a lot of space. I also removed a couple of standard OS X apps that I know I won’t be using. Gave me back 6 gb!!

-I will have to be careful- this is not a primary computer!

-Keyboard== awesome! Comfortable, easy, great feel… awesome!!(But I love the MacBook keyboard that others hate)

-Ports- STUPID- Everything that has been written is correct- especially the need to lift up the Air to plug something in. it almost seems like no one actually used it with any kind of peripheral before locking in the design. (Dumb, just dumb– now where did I leave my iPhone’s headset adapter?)

-The wimpy speaker actually sounds better than expected.

-Mono sound coming from the right side is a bit weird.

-Tried using bluetooth headphones with it- didn’t work well. I’ll try again.

-Remote disk works beautifully! Not exactly fast but just fine.

-”Back To My Mac” works beautifully– giving full access to my iMac.

INITIAL SENSE IS– I AM VERY PLEASED!!!
