MacBook Air, essential accessories!

image You know the UMPC world is literally up in the Air! I thought UMPC stood for Ultra Mobile Personal Computer, but the Air is a bit big, I know whenever I get given an A4 piece of paper, it gets folded in four, thus becoming pocketable! I would have liked to see a Newton II, or something of the same ilk, with some of the air’s features, but for all of you hanging out to get your hands on one, There’s some good news! Over at BGR they’re saying the MBA will be in stores Tuesday, oops maybe Wednesday! Any way shooting for this week. Have you considered the extras you might need for your breath of fresh air

imageSo your going to need some sort of case, cover or sleeve for your new toy, and this, the AirMail is a sleeve inspired by the launch theatrics.

The bags will be handmade with upholstery-grade vinyl and lined with soft fleece. Think of these as more of a laptop sleeve rather than a case, as it won’t protect from much more than cosmetic scratches and such. Look for these in a couple of weeks when the Air starts shipping for a price of $29.95.

If you’re really a fan, you’ll want to stay true to the “Jobsian” vision. Also, as most Apple devices today come with the obligatory white headphones, and now that the scale of Apple mobile devices has been upscaled, well see for yourselves!

Sometimes bigger IS really better, especially when it comes to sound.
That’s why we took a puny pair of earbuds, put them in Fred’s highly
technical Way Big machine, and created 500XL – it’s 500 times the size
of the original! How great will these look on your desktop alongside your
mp3 player or PC? 500XL includes a built-in amp and 3-way power -
it runs on batteries; you can connect it to your PC’s USB port with the
supplied cord; or plug it into the wall with a generic power supply
(not included).

These are awesome, and I’m considering a pair to use with my shuffle! Have you found any other MacBook Air accessories out there yet? It’s only been two weeks, but I’m sure the frenzy in many design workshops at the moment is huge!
