Update: Lygue Releases Bananas 1.1
A few days ago, I had the opportunity to review the first offering from new Windows Mobile developer, Lygue. Their first game, Bananas came as a pleasant surprise as I found it to be incredibly playable and enjoyable. At that time, I mentioned that a free upgrade would be coming soon. That upgrade, version 1.1 was released today. Although the upgrade does not add any new gameplay elements, it does significantly enhance what was already there.
The most important upgrade for me is that they have no added a "how to" feature for the level editor. One of my biggest criticisms of the game was that the level editor was not terribly intuitive. The addition of instructions should make the creation of your own levels much easier and more enjoyable.
In addition to providing these instructions for the level editor and various bug fixes, Lygue has also:
- Improved the bosses by making the more challenging to defeat and making the boss life bar more visible
- improved the Super Monkey power, so you can fly in all directions and much faster
- Added the option to display the Totem buttons in the in-game interface.
- Improved many of the graphial elements of the game, including the addition of a minimize button to the main menu, and improving skins on several bonuses to make them more visible.
- Added two new sounds.
- Added an animation when the monkey dies.
- Improved performance on some WM2003 SE and VGA screen devices
- Many more minor fixes
To check out all of the new features, check out Bananas 1.1 at Lygue’s website.
