New Eee PCs To Offer XP, Bigger Screens, Touch Screen?

EeePC1

One of the ways you can tell how much of a hit the Asus Eee PCs have been is that it seems like a day hardly goes by without news of a cool new hack for them.

Today there is also news that Asus will soon ship some models of the Eee with Windows XP (which had previously only been available via modding it yourself) starting in March.  No word on price of those models as yet - you would think that either the price has to climb a lot, or maybe it will be more of an XP Embedded variant (like that used in many thin client devices) to hold down the price hike?

There are also rumors that models with bigger screens (9 or ten inches) and some touch screen tech are on the way.  If they can keep the prices (very) reasonable, these should continue to be a very popular line.

On a side note, I should mention that our newest contributor here at JAMM - danc - owns an Eee and also has a super-slim MacBook Air on the way.   So, as you can imagine, none of us like him much - look out for his first posts soon, and give him a hard time! :)
