Word Kakuro is derived from japanese “KAsan KUROsu”, which translates to english as “addition cross”, other popular english names are “Cross Sums” and “Cross Addition”. Nikoli Corp. (the inventors of Kakuro) translate kakuro into english as “Cross Sum”.
Other japanese term for Kakuro is Samukurosu (“sum cross”).

Wow wolfie, you’re going for the gold here I see. LOL.

Thanks for playing. I might change the second part on how to increase the chances of winning since you already got that taken care of.

I always wonder what it means, great job!

:P

Bonus BooBoo answer: I think you are referring to this sentence in Inesoft contest: “That’s nine (9) license for each of the JAMM fanatics winners!” Particularly to the word “each” that in this context means that JAMM is going to give away 27 licenses alltogether (3 licenses of each of three programs for each one of three winners). Correct sentence should be “That is three (3) licenses…” or “That is nine (9) licenses for JAMM fanatics winners!”

Count me in. Just stopped playing Kakuro (my favorite of their titles) to enter the contest.

I found the booboo – you made the contests end in january of the last year – 1.6.07 and 1.12.07 – should be 08 at the end. It happens to me too :D I think everyone needs to adjust to the date change.

I like Brain School, haven’t played Kakuro yet. Most difficult? Plastic puzzle is quite challenging.

@ Charlie

Thanks! Sorry you had to update the webpage because of me ;)
If I am the first instant (just add the water and stir :D ) winner, then nobody guessed the correct state in the Inesoft contest… Will you reveal this mystery to us?

Regards,

wolfie

That’s quite alright, wolfie. In fact, it’s more fun when our readers actually participate, and have fun.

No, I don’t believe anyone have guess it correctly. I still need to double check. :P

Hope I can make it in time for this contest :) Interesting prize, even more interesting questions, but not many contenders in this one…

Favorite Brain School game of mine is School Bus – especially at higher levels when pupils go in and out of the bus simultaneously at a high pace – it trains your memory, eyes (perception) and basic math operations capability (add/subtract) at the same time. Very challenging.

Hardest puzzle game? From the Brain School games it is Syllables. Why? Because it is focused on (native) English speakers unlike the rest of the Brain School games. Division into syllables in English is something that is basic on one hand, but it is seldom taught (it is even hard to find in English exercise books). Rules for this division are different for each language. But I like it because it forces me to learn English better :D

And from the other games – Neverhood (a 1997 PC game with unforgettable graphic design and main character – Clayman) had some pretty wicked puzzles.
