E-Ten’s GloFiish X800 Gets a Big Endorsement, from Stephen Fry
The E-Ten Glofiish X800 really seems to have everything but the kitchen sink, in terms of its specs, and it sounds like it is living up to how good it sounds on paper. It’s just got a very strong review and a ‘tick’ from Stephen Fry, the celebrated comic, author, and now esteemed mobile tech blogger via his own site and his excellent ‘Dork Talk’ columns at The Guardian Online.
Stephen has used just about every smartphone (in every Mobile OS flavor) know to man – see a great Gizmodo piece HERE on why he’s in ‘Living Idol’ territory in this and other areas – and he starts his column off by talking a bit about just how hard it is to find the perfect smartphone – they’re always missing something – WiFi, GPS, 3G etc. – but the Glofiish X800 puts a tick in just about all the boxes. It even offers a front and rear camera (the main one even has autofocus), that luscious VGA screen, and 3.5G fast-as-you-can-get data speeds. Here’s its full specs, per PDAdb.net:
Windows Mobile 6 Professional AKU 0.4.0, 32bit Samsung SC32442 (Chipset) @ 500MHz, 256MB ROM / 64MB RAM, 2.8″ color transflective TFT display, 65536 scales, 480×640pixel, cellular GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, built-in SiRF Star III GPS, TMC, WLAN, Bluetooth, FM radio, microSD, microSDHC, TransFlash, SDIO, 1.9 megapixel main camera, 640×480 secondary camera
One heck of a device. And one hell of a good endorsement now as well. Check out Stephen Fry’s full views on the X800, and some choice words on the Pros and Cons of Windows Mobile, at:

No worries Pedah – I have to admit, I get a little ‘happy dance’ type response when I see something new in his feed.
And Charlie’s basement – jeez, I think it must be like the CES floor, strewn with gadgets – I’ve heard he’s gonna start adopting more kids, just so the ‘accidental’ orders can be stepped up
