HTC Advantage a Heartbreaker?

Wired has posted a list of ‘The Top 10 Heartbreaking Gadgets of 2007‘, and it’s quite a good one.  It covers a lot of ground – ranging from gadgets we’re pretty familiar with (though surprised to see it on this list) like the HTC Advantage above, through to some sort of promised perpetual motion machine and provider of eternal energy – turns out your initial WTF reaction to that one may be spot on.

Some of the picks for the list are surprising, some not so much, but there are some good and scathing – we like scathing :) – comments on all.

My favorite line amongst several good ones to choose from, when talking about one of the Not Surprising At All entries on the list:

Maybe someday Microsoft will perfect mind-control technology. But until then, we’re free to have our own opinions, like: “Keep that new Microsoft OS the hell away from me!”

OK, won’t spoil it any further – check out Wired’s heartbreakers at the link below, and let them and us over here know what you reckon:

I was curious about the comment about the HTC Advantage’s “lack of WPA wireless encryption.” My initial reaction was “Huh?!” I reviewed one (X7501) and I had it running on my WPA-encrypted network, no problems there whatsoever that I recall. In fact, I was surprised how quickly it connected compared to my Axim. Maybe they meant WPA2 or it was the X7500?
