Sprite Holiday Contest – Day 8

CONTEST DEADLINE: Saturday Dec. 22 at 7:00pm US CST

Most of you know by now that we really like giveaways and contests here at JAMM.  They’re a lot of fun, and a great way for us to say thanks to all of you for visiting the site.

Well … our good friends at Sprite Software are keen to help us keep the contests flowing more than ever during this holiday season.  So we’re going to be running a Sprite Terminator giveaway contest *every day* all the way through to December 23rd.  Terminator protects your data and allows you to locate and remotely wipe your device if its lost or stolen – check out its product page, or have a look at Lauren’s excellent review of Terminator and its GPS integration HERE when you have a chance.

Every day from here to 12/23, we’ll have one winner and one copy of Sprite’s excellent Terminator program – and possibly some Sprite Archie winners as well as we go along.  Then on the 24th, we’ll do our monthly Sprite Backup contest again.

For our daily Sprite Terminator contest we’re going to go with a little bit of a Terminator theme, or at least one loosely based around the Terminator movies and all things relating to ‘termination’.

How To Win:

As usual, it’s very easy to enter – but we’re going to have a slightly different approach on the extra credit / entries side of things.  We’ll offer a new extra credit question / topic each day, but the system will remain the same throughout these daily contests. Here’s how it works:

For one entry in the contest, just add a comment to this post.

For extra credit in Today’s contest, we’re going to stick with ‘WORST’ theme – tell us who is the absolute worst pop star right now, whose musical endeavors should be terminated immediately.  We’ll award anywhere between 1-25 extra entries to you depending on how wildly creative and side-splittingly funny we find your responses.

Good luck …

By entering this contest, you authorize Just Another Mobile Monday, and its representatives, to provide your personal information (such as, but not limited to your name and email address) to the sponsors of this contest should you be selected as a winner. Your personal information will not be sold by Just Another Mobile Monday, or otherwise retained for any purpose except that described herein.

Britney Spears-if she does not do some soul searching and put her messy life back to some order and normalcy, she should bow out before she gets terminated badly…

Well, Brittney is the obvious choice — plus, she’s been such a great role model for her little sister. I also think Cortney Love (pop?) has very little reason to sing anymore. But as for terminating any of them … they are doing it to themselves:

“Rock and pop stars are more than twice as likely as the rest of the population to die an early death, and within a few years of becoming famous, reveals research published ahead of print in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health. The findings are based on more than 1050 North American and European musicians and singers who shot to fame between 1956 and 1999.

All the musicians featured in the All Time Top 1000 albums, selected in 2000, and covering rock, punk, rap, R&B, electronica and new age genres.

How long the pop stars survived once they had achieved chart success and become famous was compared with the expected longevity of the general population, matched for age, sex, ethnicity and nationality, up to the end of 2005.

In all, 100 stars died between 1956 and 2005. The average age of death was 42 for North American stars and 35 for European stars.

Long term drug or alcohol problems accounted for more than one in four of the deaths.

When compared with the rest of the population in the UK and the US, rock and pop stars were around twice as likely to die early and even more likely to do so within five years of becoming famous.

Some 25 years after achieving fame, European pop stars returned to the same levels of life expectancy as the rest of the population.

But North American stars continued to experience higher death rates.”

###Non contest entry###

Michael Jackson – he had so many plastic surgeries that he become a caricature of himself and he already started to decompose though he is still alive (it seems he is slowly terminating himself). His current music is not even close to what he has been before too.

###Non contest entry###

I’ve been staying out of these contests because I already own Sprite Backup, but after reading fireman54′s comment I just HAD to do this:

So, that Cheeky Girls link reminds me of the Chocolate Rain guy. UGH!! My nephew (3) watches that video on youtube everyday! And now he’s getting paid to do a Dr. Pepper commercial — Chocolate Cherry Rain. EEEWWWWW!
