Judie Tells a Tale of Two HTC Touches at Gear Diary

Truth be told … I’ve not once considered even looking at the HTC Touch since its inception. Why? Techno-Ripoff. Not that I blame HTC, heck I commend them for making the effort to improve a completely lacking OS with something totally new. But whole timing and rushed release to beat the iPhone to the market just irked me.

Anyway, now that I’ve had some cooling off time I’m happy to say I’m really glad the HTC Touch came to be. Why? Not because I consider the Touch to be a competitive product to the iPhone, but because someone had to give Microsoft a kick in the pants and show them that it was time to get improving. And it might as well have been HTC. I’m also glad to see that HTC isn’t just going to let this be a one time design and then let it fade off into the background of devices gone by.

Anyway, Judie has taken the time to do a really good side-by-side comparison of the HTC Touch and the HTC Touch Dual. Definitely a recommended read …

I thought it would be fun to approach this review from the hardware only standpoint, as in “What are the main differences between these two Touches?” And “Why might you like one more than the other?”
