JAMM Contest: ZoomBoard from Vito Technology

zoomboard

Yesterday pedah told us about this newly released software from Vito Technology:

Vito Technology have released a new keyboard application, ZoomBoard. This finger friendly SIP shows a magnified representation of the keys your finger is over, and the keys surrounding it. The highlighted letter is typed as you lift your finger off the screen. Quite a nice idea really, real time visual feedback from the keyboard as you type, seems like it would lead to less typo?s. ZoomBoard is the latest addition to a suite of applications from Vito designed to make your windows mobile device as finger friendly as the iPhone.

Today we announce that I’m giving THREE copies away! Simple contest rules as always. 1 entry for commenting … a second entry for hitting the link below, giving the application a try and letting me know what you think of it. Contest runs until Tuesday, November 27th 8pm EST.

ZoomBoard is available at iWindowsMobile for $9.95.

By entering this contest, you authorize Just Another Mobile Monday, and its representatives, to provide your personal information (such as, but not limited to your name and email address) to the sponsors of this contest should you be selected as a winner. The keyboard installs easily and is larger than the standard one on my Mogul, but I don’t see the key I “might” hit. I only see the key that I am hitting. Maybe I just have to use it for a while to get used to it.

I do like the size a lot, though.

I’m in! Love all these new SIPs being produced. This one looks unique, too, with close-up view of the digit you’re actually about to choose.

COUNT ME IN!!

As spmwinkel writes in his review too, the best feature is probably that you can create you own .lay files, for instance for your own language or for symbols you frequently use.

Wow this one really looks good. Wonder what feature of the iPhone they will allow us to use next.

I am in.
The SIP is actually the weak side of my PDA.
Hope to fix it soon with this contest.

1) I’ll throw in for a freebie..
2) I did try it out on my tilt, but didn’t care too much for it. The letters are kinda small for my fingers on my qvga tilt. I understand that the letter isn’t sent until the finger “releases” the chosen letter, but maybe I just didn’t give it enough of a try.

@Moderator, I inadvertently posted this on comments for Logitek. RTFC. Sorry.

I have tried several vitual keyboard on the HTC Touch and here’s my thoughts after trying the Zoomboard:

I like the concept. It is accurate, but a little slower than other keyboards.

I am going to use it exclusively for a couple days to get used to it. I’ve been using TouchPal, so I am used to bigger keys.

I like this (Zoomboard) design far better than PocketCM.

If I could make one suggestion, is to make the keyboard a little bigger (maybe same size as PocketCM or TouchPal?). For fat thumbers like me, it would be a big help.

If I get a chance to post an update tomorrow, I will.

Hope I am one of the lucky three.

I like this application. Performs its function pretty well, just hope that the speed could be faster.

Quite impressed with the zoom and accuracy. Quite an intuitive interface I would say. Hope to win this.

Overall not too bad an experience. My wish list includes a predictive text system based on words I type frequently.

Simple to use and I can really type with my fingers. Speed-wise, not sure how much faster this is compared to the block recognizer.A powerful predictive engine that allows user-defined dictionary would be good.

I like the button at the bottom which provides for toggling of the layouts in case you use more than English. Handy for switching.

I definitely like the ability to change/make custom layouts. Handy for anyone from non English speaking country.
