PhatNotes Gets New Outlook
Not too long ago, I reviewed PhatNotes 5. One of my few complaints was that it did not play nicely with other programs, specifically Outlook. Apparently I was not the only person to call PhatWare to task on this, because they have just announced the release of PhatNotes for Outlook Edition (let’s call it PNOE to save my carpal tunnels).
PNOE syncs directly with Outlook through ActiveSync, rather than using the PhatNotes desktop software. In order to make this happen, PhatWare had to jettison password protection and text formatting capabilities, proving yet again that there’s no such thing as a free lunch. However, all of the organizing, sorting, searching, and linking features from classic PhatNotes are still part of PNOE.
PNOE costs $19.95, half the price of classic PhatNotes. An impressively long 30-day free trial is available from phatware.com.
